On March 8th and 9th, Roseburg Elks Lodge #326 hosted the annual business meeting for the Oregon State Elks Association (OSEA). Over fifty officers and spouses attended the two-day session. Herm Blum, OSEA President along with State Officers reviewed and completed bylaw changes, the annual budget and other business requirements for delegates to consider and approve at the OSEA Convention in late April. Training sessions also took place for state officers and committee volunteers, all to ensure that the organization stays a strong association.
Saturday evening OSEA attendees, and Roseburg Lodge Officers enjoyed a delicious pizza dinner at the Roseburg Lodge courtesy of OSEA President, Herm Blum. President Blum and his wife, Mavis handed out gifts of appreciation to his officers. The custom-made bird houses and stone coasters with an elk image were well received by all recipients.
While OSEA officers took care of business, spouses were entertained by OSEA first lady, Mavis Blum and Joy Malone, wife of Steve Malone, Vice President, Southwest District with card games, poker walks around downtown and pleasant conversation.
Out of town guests were very complimentary toward the Roseburg Lodge and its members for hosting the meeting. Guests were extremely impressed by the Roseburg’s lodge room. Roseburg Lodge is one of the few lodges that still have a lodge room devoted solely to lodge meetings.
